Topic: Tasty Static won't start

Under Lucid Lynx Ubuntu 10.04.
It exits with the error message:

/dev/dsp: Device or resource busy
Segmentation fault

I know it's pulseaudio related, I just don't know how to do a workaround

Bug is fixed now

Re: Tasty Static won't start

still occurs in ubuntu maverick with current tastystatic build.  forum recommends installing alsa.  is this necessary?  is anybody else having problems with pulse audio?

thanks for any assistance.  windows version rocks.

Re: Tasty Static won't start

I'm just starting game with "padsp tastystatic" and it works fine.

Re: Tasty Static won't start

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! I have very little experience with Linux and any native builds you're running weren't compiled or tested by me. If you can confirm using the pulse audio wrapper works like hxka pointed out, I'll drop his tip in the DEB package thread

Re: Tasty Static won't start

You might try the windows version under wine, I've heard it tends to actually work better than the native build. As for not releasing the sources yet, I have a few different reasons. Sorry if that has inconvenienced you, and thanks for taking an interest in the game
